Inside a Premium Design Service Brief: A Day in Tokyo

What actually happens when you use our Premium Design Service? We walk through a real client brief — from initial WhatsApp message to approved artwork — for a Tokyo fintech startup.

Inside a Premium Design Service Brief: A Day in Tokyo

A lot of our clients come to us with a file ready to print. But a growing number arrive with an idea, a brand colour, and a deadline — no artwork file, no designer on call. That is exactly what our Premium Design Service is built for.

Here is how a real brief unfolded last month for a fintech startup based in Shibuya.

The Brief

The client — a two-person fintech team preparing for a pitch at a Shibuya accelerator demo day — messaged us on WhatsApp on a Tuesday morning:

*"We need 200 business cards and a roll-up banner. We have a logo and brand colours. No designer. Event is Friday."*

Three days. Two products. From zero to print.

Day 1: Brief and Concept

We sent a brief form via WhatsApp — six questions covering brand tone, target audience, imagery preferences, and any examples they liked. They completed it in 20 minutes.

Our designer reviewed the brief and the logo file the same afternoon, and sent two concept directions for the business card layout by 5pm: one clean and minimal, one with a subtle geometric pattern pulled from the logo.

The client chose direction two with minor tweaks — swapping the background colour and adjusting the title font weight.

Day 2: Full Design and Proof

By 11am, both the business card (front and back, bilingual EN/JA) and the roll-up banner artwork were complete. We sent print-ready PDF proofs, along with a digital mockup showing the card in hand and the banner standing in context.

One round of revisions: the client wanted the website URL larger on the banner. Done and re-sent by 2pm. Approved by 3pm.

Day 3: Print and Delivery

Files entered production Wednesday evening. Thursday morning: printed, packed, and dispatched via same-day courier to the client's Shibuya office. Delivered by noon.

Demo day was Friday. The banner stood in the corner of the room. The cards were handed out to 40+ investors and accelerator staff.

What the Service Costs

Premium Design Service fees vary by product and complexity — typically ¥8,000–¥25,000 for a single product, inclusive of two rounds of revisions. Print costs are separate.

For time-sensitive briefs like this one, a rush design fee applies. Message us on WhatsApp for a same-day quote.
